Sandwich, MA – Chapman Construction Group, Inc. (CCGI), a NECA Boston Chapter electrical contractor based in Sandwich, MA, recently completed electrical installations integral to the Keolis / MBTA North Station Terminal Area Signal System Improvement Project.

CCGI’s project scope entailed installation and testing of signal cabling for six new electrical signal house bungalows.  General Foreman and Project Manager John O’Connell headed Chapman’s IBEW Local 103 electrical crew.  Signal house installations and system testing were completed in September 2022.

The upgraded, state-of-the-art MBTA signal system controls the movement of trains coming in and out of North Station. The project will improve the efficiency, safety, reliability, and resiliency of MBTA Commuter Rail and Amtrak trains serviced by the North Station Terminal.  The comprehensive North Station Terminal Signal System Improvement project is scheduled for completion in August 2023.

Chapman Construction Group, a WBE, VBE and DBE contractor, served as a subcontractor to the Keolis project’s primary electrical contractor, Fischbach and Moore.

The North Station’s new signal houses are a key component of the MBTA’s new state-of-the-art signal system project, which will control movement and enhance reliability of MBTA and Amtrak trains in and out of North Station.

October 5, 2021 – Boston, MA – Chapman Construction Group (CCGI) is in progress with electrical work integral to the MBTA Green Line Extension project. Serving as a subcontractor to GLX Constructors, CCGI’s multifaceted scope has comprised installation of temporary power, duct banks and wiring cable along 7 miles of track from Somerville to Medford, as well as the installation of stray current for bridges. The NECA contractor is managing an electrical crew ranging upwards o 33 IBEW Local 103 electricians. Project operations on the GLX commenced 2018. The project extends Boston’s Green Line to Somerville and Medford and is scheduled for completion in 2022.

September 29, 2021 – Barnstable, MA – Infrastructure work in the first phase construction of the Town of Barnstable’s Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan (CWMP) is underway with the Strawberry Hill Sewer Expansion project. This phase entails construction of the first pump station that will be required in the CWMP.

NECA Boston member, Chapman Construction Group, Inc. (CCGI), based in Sandwich, MA and working as the electrical subcontractor to general contractor, CC Construction, has been awarded the electrical work associated with the new submersible wastewater treatment pump station. Ir will be constructed at the junction of Strawberry Hill Road and Craigville Beach Road. CCGI’s electrical project scope entails the installation of the pump station’s main electrical service, generator, automatic transfer switch enclosures, variable frequency drives, control systems, and all electrical wiring.

Barnstable’s CWMP is a town-wide plan designed to protect Barnstable’s coastal waters, ponds and drinking waters by managing wastewater nutrient pollution and nutrient population in embayments. The project is being constructed in coordination with the Vineyard Wind 1 project. The first phase of the Barnstable CWMP project began in September and is targeted for completion in 2023.
